Finding an original low mileage 1956 Four Hundred

Hi all,

English isn't my mother language, so appologize if I made mistakes.

Last year, I was looking for a second premium Coupe of the Fifties. I had seen a 1956 Imperial Southampton, then a 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, but ... on my dream cars list was listed some car, including the 1956 Packard.

And just a few day after I seen the Imperial, I had seen a 1956 Four Hundred for sale. I was gone by the way (250 miles) to the seller to inspect the car.
First good news, this car was exceptionally well optioned (almost all factory options including A/C), and the car was all original, from second owner, and low mileage.

I talk to my mechanics to ask him to inspect the car in details. We spend a half day on the site to realize the car was indeed all original and genuine 53.500 miles.
So I bought it.

The second owner bought it 25 years ago in USA. He had a lot of spares parts and books.

The A/C system was parted on box, except the compressor and tubes still in the car. it's a dealer ARA system, installed in the trunk.
All accessories work great (new seat motor), power windows, wonderbar radio, antennas, Torsion lever.

I went home with the car, by the road (so 250 miles), and start to make a checklist of points to be perfectioned.

I realize the car have a classic Packard V-8 problem : the oil pump is too small. So we plan to replace it by an olsdmobile pump. As we will do for the fuel pump (adding an electric one).

Today, I give you few pictures of the car taken this winter in the wood.
I have done 500 miles with it, but it's the winter here in Europa, so not good weather to drive ...

It looks great but paint must be redone for my opinion. it's Eire Green and Dover White.

kind regards

Sharp looking car, not very many classics on the road in Belgium and far fewer packards! Congratulations.
