I just added my own blog post:
https://56packardman.com/2019/07/13/13-july-1958-the-end-of-the-packard-marque-announced/

The last Packard-badged passenger car built was a Mountain Blue Metallic Town Sedan, VIN 58L8134, built on 25 July 1958.

I've been trying to find this information for a while....Announced Closure and the last production day! Thanks

My car was ordered on June 23rd, 1958 and produced on July 16th after the announcement..........I wonder if the customer was happy or not? My car looks to be in the last 100 Packards produced, 58L 8036. That's a pretty neat honor, if you count the two Studebaker Trucks in August that went to Argentina with Packard name plates, then it's exactly the 100th from the end.

So where does your car stand as far as running condition? Runs, drives? Plans for restoration? I don't see much about the '57-58 cars so I'm interested to see what you do with yours.

There are a couple of beautiful '57 Packard wagons I've seen restored.

Can't ever call the '58s beautiful in my eye; distinctive, unusual, different, yes.
