What is the correct sequence for turning on the exterior lights on the steering wheel?

Currently I have three dents:
A - Cowl and Opera Lights
B - Fogs and Low Beams PLUS "A"
C - High Beams PLUS "A"

Thanks,
Gar

Sure.
The light switch for all of the exterior lights (except brake/ bkup and running) is located on the steering wheel just opposite the throttle. The switch slides upwards and has dents(stops) about every 1" of upward movement. At the 1st stop it turns on the "A" lights, if I continue sliding the light switch up and turns on the "B" lights, if I continue to slide it up it turns on the "C" lights.

I am trying to figure out what lights are supposed to be turned on at each stop.

Gar,

Have you had a look at the '25 526/533 Owner's Manual which is on this Site in the Packard Literature and Manuals section? It's freely downloadable.

28 526-533 Manual <-See page 47.

Sorry, but I'm still confused by your question as you seem to have pretty much answered it yourself right within your question. Your position A is tail and parking lights, B is tail and driving (low) beam headlamps, and C is tail plus elevated or hi beam headlamps.

The big question is the cowl and opera lights. Should they stay on all of the time?

I am told only in "A" position, which indicate loading or a stopped (think standing zone)car. Currently they are on all the time.

Yes "B" and "C" are fine BUT "A" is on with them.
