A 1938 Packard with an obliterated id plate was sold to me as a 1601-D. It has all the makings of a Deluxe, banjo steering wheel, chrome wheel trim, deluxe heater, deluxe hood ornament. In the Packard Model info of this site, it states that it should have a 127" wheelbase. In the "Pre War Packard Stuff" book, again located on this site, it states that a 1601-D has a 134" wheel base. There are two different body styles listed 1172 and 1192 for the 1601 and the 1601-D. Does anyone know which is correct or for some reason are they both correct? The car I purchased has a 127" wheel base. When ordering parts, it would be nice to know.
