VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
I found this car parked with a For Sale sign in the window back in the late '70s and bought it on the spot for, I believe, $300 and drove it home. It ran well but was missing some of the trim. After driving it a couple years, the 359 engine (with proper aluminum head) was totally rebuilt, some minor work was done but, as it was a daily driver, it was left in primer or temporary protective lacquer and little else was done or even needed other than brakes, tires and exhaust. I drove it for years, then put it into the garage were it sat for nearly 30 years. It was just recently moved to the worksho
itself along with the mating parts car. It will have power windows from the parts car and a Gearstart Ultramatic that I bought many years ago just for the purpose. The photo here shows it just being moved off of the car carrier at its current location. I hope to add factory A/C if I can find a rebuildable unit. In fact, I am looking for a complete unit so that I can reproduce it in case anyone sees this and has one.
Vehicle Modifications
MODIFICATIONS:
All-stock except the rear leaf springs that were reworked by a local shop which, unfortunately, made them a bit too stiff so the car rides higher than it should. It will ultimately also have pointless ignition and the addition of a number of factory accessories will be added such as power windows and, I hope, A/C. Although this is an early production car, it will take on the identity of my other later production Patrician and I hope to be able convert to Gearstart.
