VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
The original owner, apparently, was from Nazareth, PA. (His name is in an old Esso station key chain that came with the car.) When he passed away someone who knew the family bought it many years later someone apparently flipped it to the last owner, a neighbor of mine who bought it on Ebay. None of these intermediate owners appeared to have used the car much. At some point a fair amount of mechanical work took place: valve job (to repair stuck valves), carb rebuild, radiator rodded, water &am
fuel pum
rebuilds, fuel tank restored...some of this is speculation. The guy I bought it from had installed a new master cylinder but hadn't bled the brakes.

I really hadn't been in the market for a project, being perfectly content with the '51 Fordor that I've owned for about 6 years. But, when I spotted it for sale I quickly talked myself into it. A friend of mine had told me years ago that he would buy the Ford when I was ready to sell. I'd never owned a car from the 4's and it was on my bucket list (as is something from the 2's and 3's-someday!) Also, I love pretty much all the independents. I'd guessed my next classic would be either a Studebaker or Nash but this does just fine, thank you!

For me, there are 2 joys to owning an old car: 1) Learning all I can about it. I spend a lot of time researching, learning about the company &am
it's cars, &am
learning all about that car in my driveway. 2) I love to DRIVE my old cars. I never take them to shows (except as a spectator). I've taken the Ford on many long day trips and a couple weekends away and plan on doing the same with the Packard.

My goal right now is to get everything working reliably, and happily that's been going fairly well so far. Longer term I really need to do something about the paint-I may start with something chea
and ugly to some of the worst areas just to preserve it. One of the best things about the car is it's solid: I've yet to find any holes.
