An Index to Service Information for 1935-37 Junior (120->115C) Packards

An Index to Service Information for
1935-37 Junior (120->115C) Packards

Research and Introductions by Brian Harpst
MAIN SERVICE INDEX
     ~1935-37 JUNIOR (120->115C)

Introduction

Although the 1932 Light Eight failed to turn a profit, management still recognized the need for a medium-priced car and would set out to accomplish that with new, cost-saving, mass-production techniques. The result was the 120 line, which debuted in early in the 1935 calendar year and with some significant new technologies - like independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes. It was an instant success. By 1937, the platform had been extended to a long wheel base, luxury model and gave rise to an all-new six-cylinder model. Like the original parts book, we're treating these models as a separate group.

The service newsletter remained relatively unchanged during this period. It should comes as no surprise, however, that the majority of articles published during this period would concern themselves with the new and growing line of Junior models.

Our collection of Packard Service Letters is not quite complete, but we decided to open this installment with the information that was presently on file. Rest assured that this index will be updated upon receipt of additional material.

Presently, we are missing all of the Service Letters from 1935 and a few from 1937:
