| Absey Motors as seen in advertisements in the Grand Forks Herald and as posted in the Grand Forks City Directory , sold Armstrong Tires, Packard Motor Cars, and Diamond T Trucks and was showing to be in business from approximately 1947 until the mid 50's at this address. They later became Absey Edsel and later on moved to South Washington and became the Lincoln Mercury Dealership. The building's and dealerships were operated thru these periods of time by E.T. Absey and his wife, with his sons Robert and Ron as salesman and General managers of the shop during the Packard years according to the city directory. E.T. had been a prior sales manager at Border Chevrolet and later managed a gas station near to where he later located his Packard Sales operation. The 201 N. 5th address is now a parking lot, and the newer dealership on So. Washington later became a Buick and Cadillac sales operation called Eide Buick under the new owners , after the Abseys retired. | |||
