Series and Model Information | ||
The Patrician is now the entry-level model of the Packard line for 1955. The 55th Senior Series models are a major facelift of the 1951-54 shell, but trunk lid and handle are carried-over from previous Series. Vee motif used throughout the car to tout the all-new Packard V8 motor, backed by the new Twin Ultramatic automatic transmission as standard equipment. Ribbed stainless side trim (aka - Reynolds Wrap) extends from turn signal area of front fender to courtesy light on rear door. (NOTE: While genuine period photos may show Patricians with minimal side trim, these were not regular production examples, but likely pilot or test cars.) Fender skirts and lower body moldings are standard. Cathedral-style taillights are an instant classic. Exterior script plates are gold-plated, except those on trunk, which are done in chrome. All-new Torsion-Level suspension is technically an option, but likely included on all examples of this model. |
