Aluminum cylinder heads were now standard, the compression ratio was changed to 6.5:1, and horsepower was up to. In the chassis, the X-member was extended to form boxed side rails, eliminating the traditional tubular front cross member. On the outside, there changes to the car beginning up front with a slant to the radiator and pontoon fenders in the rear. Chrome side louvers were a new feature. Sidemounts could be ordered, but if they were not, the spare tire was concealed within the sloping rear panel. |
