Re: 1929 Model 640 Phaeton
Rod,
I like the colour, elegant yet subdued. If you're asking whether it matches an original colour I wouldn't know. If that's what you're after might be better to post the question in the Pre-War Forum where a bigger audience should be found. All the best. Mal |

If u are trying to determine original shades of ANY color of ANY car more than 40 years old then u are in an endless search for the nonexistent proof.

Re: 1929 Model 640 Phaeton
Very nice looking car. Rubicelle Deep was offered as a standard color on closed cars in the 640 series. Based on my paint chips, Rubicelle might have been a darker shade. Do you know the history of the exterior door handles? My understanding was that the bail type door handles ended with the prior series and was replaced with lever type with a black inset in the outer surface.

Re: 1929 640 Phaeton
It's a beautiful car and beautiful color, but it was my understanding was Rubicelle Deep was a dark marroon color - this looks rather purple. Looks great, but, not too sure this is what Rubicelle Deep looked like.
