Nice photo and a very nice old Packard, but it is not a 6-40. Notice the bonnet louvres? The 6-40 had ventilating doors. This is a 6-33 that belonged for many years, previous to its acquisition by the museum, to a gentleman, now deceased, from Columbus, Ohio.

Let me tell a story about this car and what things were like years ago. Me and a few well know restorers were together in "gasoline alley" on a Friday and had a few cocktails. We all decided to pile into this very car and go out for dinner at a steak house that was located at the top of one of the Watchung Mounatins. Since I had only one drink I did the driving. So imagine a 7 passenger car load of soused car restorers climbing a 3 mile long hill in second gear with the transmission screaming and one of them telling me to "rev it up as fast as it will! Go ahead let it rev!" I held it to 25 mph and the next problem was getting back down the hill. Obviously things worked out. That's the way things used to be. Oh and we had some well oiled women along for the ride as well.
