Re: 574 East Jefferson and 41 Clipper taxis
This fine looking line-up of Clippers are incorrectly identified as 1941 models. The center grille spacing is too wide for either 1941 or 1942 Clippers. The License plate bracket has a horizontal chrome piece above the plate. This is a 1946-7 feature. The lack of chrome side-whiskers makes them look like 41 models, but that was a feature of 6 cylinder models in 1946-7. Packard taxi models usually had 6 cylinder engines, built on 120" wheelbases because they were mode economical to operate. The 1941 Clippers had no six cylinder models offered. Only one model was offered in 1941, an 8 cylinder, 282 cid engine built on the 127" wheelbase. Just a bit of Packard Clipper trivia DanL
