Inscribed on photo back; Packard one twenty, eighteenth series, model 1801, 8-cylinder, 120-horsepower, 127-inch wheelbase, 4-door, 5-person touring sedan (body type #1392), prototype, non-production features; absent parking lamps, hood side louver panel & medallion, earlier series door handles, absent stamping around at side window, early production features; hub caps, tapered bumper ends, 1939 Michigan license plate #Y-48012.

Either the stamping is there or there is some other feature that resembles it. Of course, the senior models had a chrome trim that filled the recess but the base juniors did not.
