This is a photo showing a selection of lacquers available from Egyptian Lacquers of New York. Believed to be 1920s era. This photo was taken in moderate sunlight and I slightly color corrected the brightness and contrast to better match what I saw by eye (this was taken with a Pixel 9 Pro XL, telephoto lens, and usually it ramps up the contrast a little too much).

The names of the colors are shown below. Please note that on each card, there is the top panel, a stripe, a thin stripe of the lower color, a very thin stripe of the belt color, then the rest of the lower color. These were done like this because of the pinstriping trends of the time. However, please note that the color lists go in order of top, lower, belt, then stripe, as this is how they were printed on each sample. Color codes have been omitted except to distinguish different shades with the same name.

This is a jar of the original stuff dispensed out of a 120 lb can. As you can see, it has a unique yellow color. It is almost completely odorless, but by holding the jar extremely close to your nose in an area without wind, it smells what I would describe as 2/3 rubber ducky and 1/3 clean engine oil.
