| 1927 Packard 533 with '41 Indian M/C on the back Peter Packard 1927 03/21/2007 21:46 4038 0 0.00 (0 votes)Rate this Image
This 533 came into Australia as a Hire car, it was used as a school bus in the 1930's in Adelaide, South Australia. i purchased the car in 1974 and have repainted the esterior. The interior is mostly original, although some renovation was carried out in 1955. i have fitted a 4.38 axle ratio and the sedan cruises well at 55 mph with a trailer of old bikes attached. |

| 1938 Super Eight , 1603 Formal Sedan Peter Packard 1938 03/21/2007 21:56 3845 0 0.00 (0 votes)Rate this Image
This vehicle is very unusual and a bit of a mystery as the Packard Formal Sedan was normally on a 1604 chassis. There is a theory that as there were about 100 1603 Super Eights unsold when the 17th Series arrived, some of these may have been fitted with formal attire to help the model run-out sale. This vehicle was partially restored in 1964 and has almost 90,0000 miles from original. A very nice car to drive on trips but the 4.69 axle ratio means 55mph is ok but over 60 mph is unkind to the motor. |

| 1938 T J Richards, 1601 with 327 and R6 overdrive Peter Packard 1938 04/05/2007 7:13 4133 0 0.00 (0 votes)Rate this Image
This car is one of about 50 Australian Bodied Packards made by T J Richards of South Australia. The original engine was beyond repair so I fitted a post-war 327 and R6 overdrive. The R6 overdrive uses the 1938 gearbox top and performs as well as a 53 sedan. |

This is a great car, it may not be an expensive Classic, but it goes to 80 mph like nothing and is one of my favourites for fast touring. it was extensively restored at 62,000 miles original and now has 70,000 miles on the clock. I purchased the car in 1991 and would be great with disc brakes. These cars were imported as RHD original and I imagine that they were assembled as RHD in Detroit. They were all Ultramatic in Australia after about 1950 and I have not seen any original manual gearbox cars post 1950. I may of course be incorrect, please let me know. Peter Toet |

| 1956 Packard Patrician, Right hand Drive Peter Packard 1956 04/05/2007 7:35 2683 2 0.00 (0 votes)Rate this Image
This car came into Australia as LHD in about 1985, with about 35,000 miles original. Due to State laws it was not able to be road registered. In about 1995 the car was converted to RHD and was road registered. it now has about47,000 miles recorded and is totally original paint and trim. I have had some problems with unsatisfactory gearbox overhaul. but it has every factory option and is very smooth and powerful. |
