8x10 black and white photograph from glass negative of 1899 Packard Number One. Inscribed on photo back; completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster with provision for 2 passengers on dos-a-dos. Body by Morgan & Williams, carriage manufacturer, Warren, Ohio. This photograph taken prior to installation of H-gate shift lever or bulb horn on spade handle steering lever. By the time this car was given to Lehigh University all three running lights (2 side lights, & a light mounted at the front) and the rear seat had long been removed. Photographed outside machine shop of Packard Electric Co., North Ave., Warren, Ohio, probably on Nov. 6, 1899.
