8x10 black and white photograph from glass negative of chassis of 1899 Packard Number One. Inscribed on photo back; completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster. Note that the H-gate shift box is in place, having been installed after initial tests of Nov. 1899 (initially there were 2 levers). Photograph was perhaps taken some years after car was built--note less than new condition of engine parts and tires.

Started digging into the problem, found lots of mistakes.....The wood was broken, and the repair before was a piece of angle iron....This was not right, and I could not align the door proper....
