Photo caption on back from Packard News Service the all new 1948 Packard station sedan, with new 'free flow' styling and a new 130-horsepower straight eight engine, is the first such vehicle in the industry to have an all steel body and an all steel top, socially acceptable anywhere, as well as utilitarian, the station sedan has four doors and two full size seats of welded steel tube construction, fine grained hardwood decorates the exterior of the doors, window panels and tail-gate, Packard engineers say the station sedan is a free of rattles as any other closed car. Photo caption on back from Packard News Service :1948 Packard, engineered and tooled at a cost of approximately $1,000,000, the all new 1948 station sedan has an amazing amount of cargo space, as well as two seats for six persons, even with the rear seat in use, the station sedan has 21 cubic feet of luggage room, the rear seat virtually 'disappears' into the plywood floor, leaving nearly nine feet of cargo space from the back of the front seat to the end of the opened tail-gate, which forms an extension of the floor, under floor concealment of the spare tire leaves even additional usable space.
