8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1925-1926 Packard left side view, Commander John Rodgers standing in passenger doorway, American flag affixed to front. Inscribed on photo back; Packard 243, second series eight (produced 2/2/1925-8/1/1926), 8-cylinder, 85-horsepower, 143-inch wheelbase, 7-person sedan (body type #254) or 7-person sedan limousine (body type #256), early type two-piece windshield. Commander John Rodgers led a crew in a record flight of 2,230 miles in 28 hours, 35 minuets & 27 seconds to the Hawaiian Islands in PN-9 no. 1 seaplane (powered by two Packard Model 1A-1500 engines), forced down short of the Honolulu destination when ran out of fuel.
