Packard Co. file photograph of a 1948 Packard nine-tenths front left view, top folded, female behind wheel, male passenger, female standing at driver's door, parked on street in front of house, couple standing near doorway. Photo caption on back from Packard News Service: "New "showoff" the 1948 Packard super eight convertible, described as "America's first all new postwar convertible," the model well justifies its claim of being "new from the tires up," fresh features include its specially built frame, 145-horsepower straight eight engine and rakish body with "flush contour" styling, which extends over the wheels in clean, graceful sweeps, a supplement to the present Clipper line, this new Packard is being readied for quantity production in June."

Packard Co. file photograph of a 1948 Packard three-quarter front right view, parked on dirt road, house with white picket fence in background, man standing at driver's door, female standing off to side. Photo caption on back from Packard News Service: "1948 Packard, Detroit, Sept. 27- Packard's traditional grille lines, which originated in 1904, are not only preserved but enhanced by the "free flow" styling of the three all new Packard eights for 1948, actually a part of the front end design, the grille on the eight (touring sedan shown here), the custom eight and the super eight protects the radiator from damage, besides admitting cool air, the air also enters through the front bumper, whose long arms reach almost from wheel opening to wheel opening."

Belonged to an elderly man who became too I'll to drive and care for the car. Didn't run when I brought it home, runs really well now. Need to work on getting the Overdrive working again and needs a steering box rebuild.
