caption: 1941 Packard Clipper staff car assigned to Gen. Eisenhower, at a meeting with Gen. Bradley at 12th Army Group HQ, August 1944. Gen. MacArthur had the same model vehicle. Earlier in the war, in 1942, Gen. Eisenhower had a Cadillac staff car in Tunisia. This model Packard staff car had factory air conditioning.

"General Douglas MacArthur was inspecting the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry Division shortly before the division was sent to New Guinea in January, 1944. The two stars on the front of the Packard vehicle indicate that it was assigned to a Major General and the four star flag on the front bonnet show that MacArthur was a passenger."
