Imperial War Museum (IWM)caption reads : "The crew of a British mobile anti-aircraft gun rush to man their weapon after enemy aircraft are sighted.
During the summer of 1916 troops serving with the British Salonika Force were issued with Australian style slouch hats due to their being insifficient sun helmets available. This situation was rectified the following summer and slouch hats were not again issued in Salonika.".
Comment : This appears to be a 3 inch "13 pounder 6 cwt" anti-aircraft gun, on Mark I mounting which had an additional recuperator mounted above, to facilitate the barrel's run out at high angle.
The gun is mounted on on a Packard Series D lorry.
NOTE : This version of the photograph has brightness and contrast artificially increased to highlight detail.

Summer, 1916
This is photograph No. HU 81079 from the Imperial War Museum collection No. 2200-40.

Very early Packard truck with automobile. Truck looks very similar to the experimental, pictures 4094 and 9244. It lacks the louvres under the seat as seen on TA series trucks. My guess is ca. 1904. Car is probably a Model L Packard.

The livery on the 1920 Packard truck reads: "Water pipe shop - Huber" (plumber shop in todays language). As can be seen this truck is running by burning wood on the round "oven" behind the cab, installed on the vehicles during war times).
This truck has been in use in 1940 and likely during the whole "Winter War" - a military conflict between the Soviet Union and Finland. Like the old men, some old trucks could do their service at the home line, when the young ones were "somewhere far". This truck was playing its part for the water services of Helsinki, where the bombings had caused damage.
