Inscribed on photo back; Packard archives indicate facelift for Clipper was originally planned for twenty-first series, by 1942 the heavier front end and hidden headlights had appeared on a front-end-only facelift, this evolved to a more streamlined hood with hidden headlamps by 1944, in 1945 artists retouched a photo of a production 1942 Clipper, using the proposed new lines, around the same time the more elaborate custom eight grille work was emerging, finally came the production prototypes, with completely altered fuselage and flow-through fenders.

Inscribed on photo back; Shown above is the new postwar Packard Clipper touring sedan, production of these 1946 models has just been unveiled to the Packard Dealer Advisory Council who were told that first public showings will be made at regional dealer meetings in seven cities early next month, the new Packard, following styling of the company's fresh-designed prewar Clipper model, incorporates 68 design and mechanical changes, new sparkle and more powerful exterior appearance are attained with a newly treated radiator grille, and more massive side guard bumpers, more eye-appeal is added by colorful new interiors of clean-lined modern styling.
