Thanks for the positive comments!

The car actually handled better than I thought. Early morning fog froze on the cold roads since the temp. over night dropped to the low 20's.

Road feel with those skinny tires felt better than my modern iron and radial shoes.

Given the 4600+ vehicle weight and smaller tire to road contact patch with the skinny tires it felt like I had better grip.
