Re-bodied ?

In the past I remember seeing some pre-war Packards for sale that were listed as "re-bodied". I never looked into them at the time but always wanted to know what exactly that meant?

I assume it's not the same body on the frame that it came with from the factory? Does it hurt the value of the car?
