39 120 reading lights

Ok, more dumb questions. I'm trying to get the reading lamps hooked up under the dash on my 39 120. The original ones were long gone, but the new wiring loom has two of them to install. Looking under the dash, there are three holes on the bottom of the dash panel, about 1/2" in diameter. One is to the left of the steering column; another just of the left of the light switch, and a third just to the left of the glovebox. The lights could possibly fit above the bottom of the dash, and shine thru the holes. The second option is two rectangular holes, below the radio and above the recessed area housing the light switch, ignition with, starter button, and throttle. I could see either location working. Anyone have any idea as to which is correct? The 1940 dash is very similar in layout.

Thanks.
