You can get the water distribution tube out without removing the grille. Thankfully.
Remove the waterpump.

OD - Respectfully, I don't think 400-650 is current pricing. I wish it were. I would think 650 is on the LOW end if the shop owner likes you, or doesn't know what he's getting into with these old brass tanks...
