Re: 1940 Packard cowl vent option

There was a heater fresh air option for prewar cars and I am wondering if that could be the conventional body implementation.

On the Clippers it was a solid round duct running straight from the firewall to an opening in front behind the grill. With conventional bodies I think the grill and engine side area may have been too narrow for the solid duct. It could have come from the vent thru something like a small defroster type hose.

There was a knob which worked a cable to open a small door or maybe the small vent to allow air thru the duct to enter the heater cavity and be circulated.
