The center steering arm pivots on most 35-42 models are of 2 types.

35-38 The early version consists of a stout pin and an upper and lower bicycle type bearing. There is no provision for lubricating the bearings and most cars with decent mileage have deteriorated bearings needing replacement. Wear is indicated by up and down movement of the center steering arm. Our replacement bearings are modern sealed ball bearings which will outlast the next 10 owners

39-42 except Clipper and V-12 . The later version consists of a thin pin with a grease fitting hole at the bottom easily accessible when lubricating the chassis. The bushing is copper plated steel. The wear on these components is mostly caused by lack of lubrication
