1937 valve spring keepers

There are 2 different styles of keepers. Half are the "standard" 2 part keepers that I'm accustomed to seeing before. The other 8 have a slot in the stem that a key would slide in I guess.
On the '37 engine did the intake and exhaust valves have different keepers?
Do the ones with the key have a different washer between the keeper and the spring?
Will my old valves work if they are serviceable? They have the 2 piece keepers.
