Yes, that's a very easy pump to do, but an excellent shaft is essential to a long-lasting rebuild and if you need to have a new shaft made, a good grade of tool steel is much preferred over stainless.

I used sealed bearings and corded packing when I did mine and that was over 40 years ago.
