It appears that the height of the hood is lower than say the standard sedans and convertibles?????

PackardV8, even with the factory bodies the radiator shell was shorter in the open cars than the closed cars. Difference about 2 inches as I recall.

Incidently there is an interesting story about one of the roadsters involving a still unsolved (after decades,I think) murder of the owner and disappearance of the car for a # of years.
