The same on my 120C. (I received enough to do a 4 door I think from Kanter) so I put them on both the top door panel trim and the door itself, placing the dressed end at the door opening and burying the cut end at the vent end. As there was no holes in the door trim panel nor the door skin on mine and the paint was already done, I simply used a strong urethane adhesive.
I have no idea if it is 'as original' because there was no archival evidence of anything left on my car when I got it, but am very happy with the result. You are right, no window rattle and also no unsightly gaps and smooth window action. I still have a fair amount left over too!
