car dies often freeway offramp & setting distributor to oil pump correct timing

Sorry if this is another often asked question (s) I was trying to locate previous posts that dealt with car stalling often especially when coming off the freeway at the end of the off ramp.
Also, I cannot seem to find clear illustrations for aligning the distributor with oil pump to obtain correct timing setting for stock 1941 Packard 110 Club Coupe. Thank you for any help or suggestions. Sincerely. John
