I've fixed a few clocks (two 39 and one 40). Get one of those small 6 volt batteries and appropriate gator clips, oil and let it run. If it's particularly dirty you can try and clean using ultrasonic cleaning and then oil. It's not uncommon that the oil will work and it reset for a few days and then stop, requiring a manual reset. Just keep it plugged up and re-oiling,etc. Once it's running without intervention for a few weeks straight you should be good. According to a pro click repair guy who taught me some things, these usually just need oiling and working themselves loose and out.

One thing to note if you don't already have experience on this is that if you aren't driving daily you'll likely want to unplug the clock if not driving otherwise it'll kill your battery pretty fast or at least give you grief with starting.
