UPDATE.

While taking a break from the work I measured the old pins, which are still in place. The diameter is exactly the same as the new pins. I also checked the old bearings and they show wear.

My question is would it be lazy of me to use the old pins, considering the lack of wear on them?

The bottom bearings are proving difficult to remove from the 'cup' they are in, any suggestions?
