1940 180 Econo-drive

Hello. This is my first post on this forum. I am looking at a very nice driver 1807. It doesn't come with Econo-drive - just the three speed transmission. My questions to you learned folks:

(1) Are Econo-drives easily available?
(2) Can they be installed with relative ease?
(3) Are they worthwhile for a driver?
