I wonder if the house is located in the Indian Village neighbourhood of Detroit. I recall that Edsel Ford lived there before moving out to Grosse Pointe. My grandfather told me that in the 1920's he serviced the oil furnace in Henry Leland's home located in this area. It is highly likely many of the auto pioneers had homes in Indian Village as well. Indian Village was (and is) a very prestigeous historic neighbourhood before Gross Pointe became fashionable. A check of any of the Detroit city directories during the 1920's and 1930's would probably give an address for Mr. McCauley.indianvillagedetroit.org/
