It's interesting that this car also has miniature versions of the Woodlites on top of the wings fenders.

It seems that they were clearly more popular on the custom bodies cars and used as a way of further differentiating them from the factory-bodied versions.

I personally don't like them much. They seem to be more suited to later 30's cars which were more avant-garde than the stock 745. The stylised teardrop shape isn't carried over to any other part of the car.

Mine shown below. The huge headlights and the symmetry (count the circles..... lights, mirrors etc) of the factory spec suit the car better (in my very humble opinion).
