Maybe so but I'll bet things would not have been quiet if the upholstery in the generals car was stained. Stain prevention equals the driver staying a sergeant--unless it was Sgt. McIllhenny----Gen Savage to Sgt as he was sewing on stripes again: "McIllhenny, If we keep having these ups and downs, I suggest you put those stripes on with zippers." (12 O'clock High, 1949)

One thing about the Clipper looks funny. Is that a real right hand drive or is the photo reversed. I invite a look at the accelerator and brake area and suspect the car was born differently.
