'32 Packard Turn Signals

Now that I've got your attention, that Packard didn't have turn signals in '32, I wanted to share an unauthorized modification to add turn signals that would compliment the design of the '32 Packard interior and hopefully not stick out like a sore thumb...

I did this for safety concerns, too many people have no idea what hand signals and after a few close calls with drivers almost hitting me, I wanted to add turn signals just to the back lights.

A separate bulb was placed in each of the rear taillight. The entire set-up can be removed in the future since there was no modification to the original hardware.

The turn signal indicator was a "Cats Eye" model from the 30-40's that periodically comes up on Ebay or at swap meets. A 6V relay was used as the signal indicator so it can be easily heard in the car.
