The beltline difference is the same on the roadster. Much like you (and I) have said, just looking at it you can see the difference. Also, even though it's "only" 5 inches longer, it's pretty obvious when you see a 645. The engines are the same and most of the other mechancial engineering is as well.

The tough call is the 740 vs 745. I haven't separated in my mind if their coachwork is the same yet. I need to really see a couple of em up close. The beltline detail on the Dietrich 645 is the same as what was used through 34 also, as in the beltline follows all the way down the 1/4 panel. On the 740 Packard bodies (probably 840s also), the beltline wraps around the seat/top of the roadsters leaving a curvy and sexy rumble/trunk area that simply flanks the lid opening. Sorry, I know you asked for the time and I may have built you a watch...(!)
