Supposedly Billy Durant got the Chevrolet logo from a barber shop sign.

In today's non-productive economy even words are bought and sold as some kind of intrinsic value which didn't exist back when people actually produced something for a living.

The Packard script was typical font for the day and nothing special.

However, today we have such insanity as trade marks for stupity like "It's a Good Thing", "priceless", or "you're fired".

I'm waiting for someone to try and trademark integral calculus. In the old days people had work to do and didn't have time for such baloney.
