Whats Attached to my 1082 Master Cylinder?

I am taking apart a rough 1937 115C 1082 I picked up in North Carolina. I needed a few parts from it for my 1090 Limo. In doing so I found an oddity to me and was wondering what is attached to the front of the master cylinder? I have had many 37's but none ever had anything like this on the front. Thanks in advance.
Oh if anyone needs some parts off this the only thing I needed was the two fender to grille shell chrome pieces and the front upper fender supports. Just PM me if you need something. I have lots of parts just not this car worth.
