Based on my experience with my carb, I would go with a quality exchange. I had my carb rebuilt by an experienced mechanic and it still didn't work well. Other guys had been in there before and likely messed things up. I would have been better off just getting a remanufactured carb in the first place. A whole bunch of problems went away with a quality unit. I used Max with excellent results and service.
