28- repair of clutch and brake support rod

does anyone know if the shaft on the side of the transmission that hold the clutch and brake peddles is pressed or screwed in-is it removable? mine has quite a bit of wear. also has anyone found a replacement for the brass bushings in the peddles. thanks dell
