I can't comment specifically on the 115C, but on the 36 and earlier senior cars, the exterior door handle that was lockable (front passenger side) was attached differently than the others. If it were not, you could simply remove the handle with the external escutcheon screws to gain access. What they had was a screw on the inside stub end of the shaft that prevented the handle from being removed by simply removing the two outer screws.

If you have the opportunity, take a look at the passenger side front door interior door panel; what you should see (at least for 1932-34) is a small flathead nickel plated screw head and metal grommet fitted neatly into the door panel. This is screwed into the handle shank and prevents the door handle from being removed from the outside. Only the key-lockable handle has this feature.
