In response to the originally posted question, the sketch below shows the wiring for the 740 Dictagraph intercom plus other wiring to be installed before the headlining is fitted. As noted this may not apply to the later models.
The Dictagraph now works after some expert assistance that involved repacking the microphone carbon granules.
The microphone shown in the following attachment is identical to the one in the 1930 Packard 740 limousine:http://www.uv201.com/Microphone_Pages/dictograph.htm
