Stromberg Carb EE 16

Good Morning,
I have a question that I hope is not too ridiculous. This is a picture of the bottom of the carburetor off my 1801. I would like to know if these two corrugated pieces are part of the original carb or some after market devices to perhaps improve gas mileage.
